Royal Enfield trip

Trip description

A guided Royal Enfield motorcycle tour through the most beautiful valleys of Mustang, offering spectacular views of the mountains and the ethnic cultures of Nepal. We begin with a ride in Pokhara, the most relaxing lakeside town in Nepal. We then pass through picturesque countryside and follow the newly built dirt road along the most popular trekking route of the Annapurna, arriving at Tatopani. The mountain views are breathtaking, and the landscape and house structures will make you feel as if you were in Tibet rather than Nepal. We explore the Muktinath area at an altitude of 3,800 meters and the surrounding monasteries before retracing our route.

Day2 : Kathmandu to Pokhara (200 km) ©Triptresor

Enjoy a scenic ride along the road. Lunch will be taken en route.
Keep a keen eye and drive cautiously on this chaotic road until you finally reach the vibrant yet narrow streets of the town. Once in Pokhara, check into the hotel. In the evening, you can stroll around the lake and relax at one of the lakeside restaurants.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 : Pokhara to Tatopani (105 km)

Day3 : Pokhara to Tatopani (105 km) ©Triptresor

Depart from Pokhara on a Royal Enfield towards Beni – 80 km on a well-maintained road, regularly served by buses heading to Beni. However, the road from Beni to Tatopani is more challenging. If there’s no rain, it’s manageable, but if it rains, the road can get muddy. Fortunately, the road remains mostly level, with no steep climbs, though it’s still an adventurous ride.
We take it slow on the dirt road, stopping at many scenic spots for photos or simply to rest and admire the beautiful landscapes. Upon arrival in Tatopani, get your ACAP permit stamped and check into the hotel. In the evening, relax in the natural hot spring by the Kali Gandaki River.
Overnight in Tatopani.

Day 4 : From Tatopani to Tukuche (35 km)

Day4 : From Tatopani to Tukuche (35 km) ©Triptresor

Tatopani to Ghasa (13 km)

This area is prone to landslides, and riding a motorcycle can be challenging, especially during the final 5 km before Ghasa. After the rain subsides, mudslides can still occur. Heavy machinery is often on hand to keep the road passable. The last 5 km are quite tough with large rocks obstructing the way.

Ghasa to Kalapani (14 km)

This section has some of the most difficult passages, with steep cliffs on your right. You’ll have a close-up view of Annapurna, one of the most difficult 8,000-meter peaks in the world.

Kobang to Tukuche (8 km)

Ride between two icy 8,000-meter peaks. You’ll ride along a road between these towering giants. There’s a river crossing via a wide suspension bridge, with spectacular photo opportunities of the icy summits. If weather permits, we’ll take a short hike for a great view of Dhaulagiri.
Overnight in Tukuche.

Day 5 : From Tukuche to Muktinath (31 km)

Tukuche to Jomsom (12 km)

A smooth ride from Tukuche to Jomsom. No steep slopes or missing tarmac, and the road is manageable, with just a few minor river crossings. Amazingly, there’s a small airport in Jomsom, and it’s quite impressive to watch the small planes take off. Jomsom is the largest town in Mustang, bustling with cafés and hotels. After leaving Jomsom, we’ll continue along winding streams.

Jomsom to Muktinath (19 km)

The landscape becomes sparse and more rugged as we ascend out of the world's deepest gorge and ride along the highest mountain range in the world. The scenery becomes increasingly dramatic. We cross the famous Kali Gandaki River via a small suspension bridge and begin our climb towards Muktinath, revealing the Mustang's magnificent lunar landscape. Upon arriving in Muktinath, we check into the hotel. The views from the rooftop are breathtaking.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 : Muktinath

We also visit the nearby monastery, where you can see an eternal flame burning. Buddhists call this site "Chumi Gyatsa," which means "100 waters." We'll take a leisurely walk through neighboring villages and explore more monasteries.
Optional afternoon descent to Marpha.
Overnight at the hotel.

We reach the Begnas Lake Resort in the late afternoon, and the rest of the day is free to relax.

Enjoy your stay at Begnas Lake.

Day 11 : Begnas Lake to Nuwakot (via Mugling)

Day11 : Begnas Lake to Nuwakot (via Mugling) ©Triptresor

After breakfast, we continue our journey to Nuwakot with a stop in Mugling.
We rejoin the highway, and 46 km before reaching Kathmandu, we take a left towards Nuwakot District, following the new Nepal-China highway. Enjoy stunning mountain views, rice terraces, and river valleys as we ascend towards the historic town of Nuwakot. We’ll visit the Nuwakot Palace, now a museum atop a small hill.
