Take the Old Town Trolley or a bus with an open platform bus to enjoy a general view of the city centre and discover the unique atmosphere of the US federal capital. Then go back to the National Mall from Lincoln Memorial to the Capitol. Visit one or two museums of the Smithsonian Institution, such as the National Museum of Natural History or the National Gallery of Art.
U Street/Shaw, Washington National Cathedral, with a stop at lunchtime at Ben's Chili Bowl to taste half-smokes. Visit the galleries and artistic facilities nearby. Spend the afternoon in Capitol Hill, by visiting the Capitol and its beautiful library. In the evening, go to Dupont Circle. Visit the residential area, visit the Phillips Collection and enjoy the wide offer of the neighbourhood restaurant.
In the morning, visit the International Spy Museum, then go to the National Portrait Gallery or the American Art Museum, and continue to an Asian restaurant. Finish with a show at the Shakespeare Theatre or with a sport game in the Verizon Center.

This day is devoted to the visit of the White House and the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Visit also the Corcoran Gallery of Art. Evening show at Kennedy Center.
Walk through the greenery of Georgetown University in the morning, shopping and walking along the C&O Canal in the afternoon. Finish the day at Blues Alley or a bar at M Street.
Walking on the docks, discovering the old town and tasting fish and crabs in a restaurant in the evening.
Shopping day at Pentagon City Mall (Virginia) or Bethesda (Virginia). Many restaurants for dinner on site.
Visit of George Washington, the first president of the United States.
Visit of the famous University of Virginia campus. Afternoon in Monticello, the beautiful house of Thomas Jefferson. Evening in Downtown on the walkway.
Go to Richmond to visit the White House of the Confederates and take a tour in the preserved city centre with nicely-arranged shores. Then visit Williamsburg to remember the colonial times.
At Jamestown, go to the Maes river pier to see the ruins of the first British permanent colony trial. Then side trip in Yorktown where you will follow the signs to discover the surrounding countryside and the many battlegrounds of the American Revolutionary War. On the way back to Washington, stop at Mcsherrystown to see other battlefields, the Civil War this time.
Make a tour at the harbour and enjoy the calm and especially the gastronomy of the Maryland State's capital. Leave the harbour to go to the main street and try to find typical souvenirs of the region.
Heading to Chesapeake Bay. Here, in the middle of the swamps populated by birds, in the heart of fishing villages, enjoy a well-deserved change of scenery.
Visit of the Walters Art Museum and lunch on the marina. We'll get back to Washington late in the day.
