For athletes, Reunion Island offers a huge playground. The famous diagonal of the madmen, a run of at least 24 hours in an extraordinary vegetation is a good example. There is also diving, or water sports on the beaches of the South, which are very varied and seduce families and surfers (the Étang-Salé, with its black sand, its waves, its protected basin, is both sporting and family: its stormy temperament and its immense expanse make it one of the preferred beaches of the Creoles), picnickers (Grand-Anse, Manapany) or fishermen (Terre-Sainte, Langevin)
