Day2 : Kathmandu ©Triptresor

Breakfast at the hotel.

Morning: Visit Kathmandu and Swayambhunath.
Visit Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, one of the oldest cities in the world, also known as Kantipur. Here you will find temples with characteristic architecture, stone carvings, ancient monasteries, and other historical monuments. You will visit the Temple of the Living Goddess, where devotees gather to worship as the goddess appears on the balcony. Visit the Kasthamandap Temple—from which Kathmandu gets its name and believed to be made from the wood of a single tree—and Durbar Square, dominated by Hanuman Dhoka, the former residence of Nepalese royalty.
Swayambhunath: Located 4 km from Kathmandu, this Buddhist stupa is believed to be over 2,000 years old, one of the oldest and most prestigious Buddhist chaityas. The Chaitya (stupa) consists of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth, supporting a noble conical spire, with a golden copper top. The all-seeing eyes of Buddha are painted on each side of the spire. It is situated on a hill that is a mosaic of smaller chaityas and pagodas.
In the afternoon: Meet the guide and prepare trekking gear.
