Less known, it is nevertheless the greenest part of the country with the region of Sikasso which hosts most of the market gardening and especially cotton, the Bobo region around Koutiala and Yorosso where masks regularly come out during traditional festivals, but also the magnificent lake of Sélingué on the edge of which we still find traces of ancestral wars. Spend the morning melting into the neighborhood life and acclimatise with the atmosphere and rhythm of Mali. Walk through the river Niger in the afternoon. Discovery of the islands and their traditional villages in the heart of the city, visit the Sable sand port.
Visit of the city, walking along the river. Take a canoe in the city center to Kalabougou, a potter village. Count 1 hour of crossing on the river in the heart of its beautiful landscapes. Particularly interesting on Sunday, when the pods make huge fires to cook their jars, vases or canaries. Night in Ségou.
Take the road to Sikasso in the morning with a meal break in Koutiala. Possibility to visit the cotton fields of the surrounding villages. Arrival in Sikasso early in the afternoon. Visit of the city and night on site.
Balade at Farako Falls, then take the road to Bougouni and eat on the spot. Arrival in the evening in Sélingué. Visit of the traditional orpals and sunset on the lake. Night in Sélingué.
Walk in the morning around the lake, meet the population, visit the bozo villages, many in Sélingué. Possibility to visit the hydroelectric station of the dam. After the meal, start in canoe to go up the river Niger to the village of Bancoumana. On the journey, stop in the village of Djoliba, a native village of Salif Keta, visit the sand ports. Arriving in Bancoumana, take public transport to reach Siby. Night to Siby.
Walk in the Mandé Mountains with the natural arch of Kamadjan and the different waterfalls. Possibility to travel on foot, bike or 4 x 4. Visit of the village, the market on Saturday. Sports activities: hiking, climbing, mountain biking, bike. Return to Bamako in the evening and night in Bamako.
Visit points of interest in the capital according to the tastes of travellers. Last purchases at the N'golonina market or at the crafts house.
