A French-speaking assistant meets us at the airport and accompanies us by private transport to our hotel, located in the historic centre. 

Welcome to Bogotá, a multicultural and dynamic capital in the heart of the Andes, at an altitude of 2,400m.

You first go to the huge Paloquemao market by private transport, the largest flower market in the country and the largest market in the city. Here you can taste local specialities such as empanada or arepa, as well as many exotic fruits.

Lunch included - typical ajiaco bogotano, a kind of chicken stew.

In the afternoon you will visit the historical district of La Candelaria and the Plaza Bolivar, where you will find the National Capitol, the Palace of Justice, the City Hall of Bogotá, the "Primada" Cathedral, the Chapel "del Sagrario" and the Archbishop's Palace. Discover the neoclassical façade of the Colon Theatre and the splendid Church of Santa Clara. You can also visit the Gold Museum (closed on Mondays), a veritable encyclopaedia of Colombian history. 

Visit the Botero Foundation (closed on Tuesdays), a gift from the great Colombian painter, which contains, in addition to Botero's works, 85 paintings by the greatest impressionist masters.

Direction to the cable car and the Cerro Monserrate to observe the panoramic view of the city, located at 3,150m above sea level. Here we discover the basilica of Santa María de la Cruz de Monserrate, built in 1650. 

Flight to Pereira. A private transport will take you to the village of Salento. Visit of the charming village where you will discover the main green square, full of life and surrounded by beautiful houses with colonial "paisa" architecture.

Direction l'entrée de la vallée de Cocora où vous commencez une randonnée de difficulté moyenne d'environ 2 heures. Vous vous promènerez dans un décor vallonné avec des palmiers en cire, emblème national colombien, pouvant atteindre jusqu'à 60 m de haut. Vous découvrirez les paysages de l'Axe du Café, déclaré patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO.

Déjeuner inclus. Nous dégustons le typique "Trucha con patacon", truite cuite sur banane plantain frite.

Nous partons ensuite à la découverte de Filandia: un village typique de la zone café plein d'histoire, de couleurs, d'architecture coloniale, de traditions, d'artisanat et de saveurs locales. Une promenade tranquille dans ses rues nous permet de découvrir les premières maisons de ses fondateurs, qui se caractérisent par l'utilisation de torchis, la hauteur des toits, leurs couleurs vives inspirées de la nature, leurs balcons, leurs fondations et leurs patios intérieurs. . Vous découvrirez l'art de la vannerie, transmis de génération en génération, ancien acteur incontournable de l'économie de la région.

Vous commencez la matinée par une visite du café dans une finca traditionnelle: découvrez le processus de fabrication de la récolte des grains à la dégustation, et admirez le savoir-faire du barista qui prépare le café de manière à mettre en valeur toutes ses saveurs.

Vous prenez ensuite la route vers le village de Jardín. Le déjeuner est inclus en cours de route.

A l'arrivée, accompagnés de notre guide, nous nous promenons dans les rues colorées et animées de ce village perché dans les Andes. Nous emprunterons la "La Garrucha", une authentique télécabine qui nous emmène au belvédère du village.

Direction Santa Fe de Antioquia. À seulement 2 heures de Medellín, c'est la capitale historique de la région. Ce village colonial bien entretenu, aux maisons blanches et aux rues pavées, nous rappelle sa petite cousine Villa de Leyva.

A l'arrivée, déjeuner sur la place principale puis direction le Western Bridge, reliant Olaya à Santa Fe de Antioquia, qui était à l'époque un méga-projet d'ingénierie colombien. Sa construction en bois surplombant la tumultueuse rivière Cauca en fait le plus long pont suspendu d'Amérique latine.

Ce matin, nous visitons le village de Santa Fe de Antioquia, chargé d'histoire, avec notre guide. Fondé par Mariscal Jorge Robledo en 1541, le village est un monument national depuis 1960.

Nous prenons ensuite la route de Medellín (déjeuner inclus en cours de route) et profitons de quelques heures de liberté pour découvrir le quartier animé de Poblado.

Dans la soirée, nous nous réunissons autour d'un dîner-spectacle pour marcher sur les traces de Carlos Gardel, l'homme qui a transformé Medellín en la plus importante communauté de tango en dehors de l'Argentine.

Medellín, located in the heart of the Andes in the Antioquia region, is one of the most innovative cities in Latin America. Although its recent past is linked to Pablo Escobar and violent drug-trafficking tensions, Medellín has undergone drastic changes in the last 20 years. Thanks to an innovative urban development programme combining modern means of transport with the construction of public parks and entertainment areas for the inhabitants, Medellín has gone from being the most dangerous city in the world to a model example of urban transformation.

Aujourd'hui, vous explorerez, accompagné de notre guide anglophone, la place Botero dans le centre-ville, où se trouvent les statues emblématiques du célèbre artiste colombien et le musée d'Antioquia. Ensuite, vous empruntez le Metrocable (téléphérique) pour admirer une vue panoramique sur la ville. Visitez la Comuna 13 et ses graffitis, avec ses escaliers mécaniques emblématiques, emblématiques de la transformation de la ville, véritables contributeurs à la qualité de vie des habitants de Medellín.

Private transfer to the charming village of Guatapé and the Piedra del Peñol, about two hours away. The charm of the village of Guatapé lies in the colourful relief friezes on the walls of the houses that tell the customs and legends of the region. There are many artisan workshops in the village.

The Rock of the Peñol is an enormous mass coming out of nowhere and 200m high... from up there the spectacle is simply grandiose!

Flight to Cartagena and private transfer to the hotel.

Guided morning dedicated to the visit of Cartagena and its most emblematic neighbourhoods.

We stroll through the colonial streets of the city founded in 1533. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984 and it is easy to understand why. The buildings are reminiscent of the splendour of the colonial era, with their superb carved wooden balconies, wooden doors opening onto sumptuous patios.  We visit the Plaza Santo Domingo, Las Bovedas and its craftsmen, the Convent of La Popa offering a unique panorama of the city, the imposing fortress of San Felipe de Barajas.

The great marsh of Santa Marta (Ciénaga Grande), the largest body of water in Colombia, can be visited by boat to explore the mouths of the rivers that flow down from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Here, more than 80 species of aquatic and terrestrial birds are present, with some of them endemic to this particular marsh, such as the Kamichi chavaria, Red-bellied Ortalid or Purplish Night-Heron.

You leave in the morning for about 40 minutes, heading for the town of Cienaga, from where you take a boat to explore the interior of the marsh. You visit the lake villages of the marsh, which are made up of houses on stilts.

You then return to the city of Cienaga for lunch.

After lunch, head towards Santa Marta to your hotel.

We leave by private transport to the entrance of Tayrona National Park (about 45 minutes transfer). Then 10 minutes of transport take us to the car park of Cañaveral.

We start our walk along the paths of the park. After an hour's walk we reach the beautiful beach of Arrecifes. We continue for about three quarters of an hour along the beaches of Arenillas and La Piscina, and finally reach the famous Cabo de San Juan.

We enjoy the beach and the magnificent scenery.

Optional: Excursion to Minca, Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

Accompanied by our guide, direction Minca to enjoy a 360 degree view of the splendid Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and the Caribbean Sea. You are at an altitude of 1,400 metres, the climate is cool, perfect for escaping the heat of Santa Marta. You then head to the Pozo Azul, a natural pool of water descending from the mountains. Then you visit the Cocoa de Minca Museum, where they explain the process of making chocolate and taste the finished product. Finally, you go to the Marinkas waterfalls for a refreshing bath. At the end of the afternoon, return to the hotel by private transfer.
