French Guiana is ideal for thematic stays because it offers a range of activities, each more attractive than the next. The municipality of Saül was founded by gold panners from Saint Lucia, attracted at the beginning of the 20th century by the thirst for gold. Trails allow for safe walks, to discover the remains of the first inhabitants of French Guiana or to discover the luxuriant flora and fauna of the forests of the French Amazon.

Hiking day supervised by a guide and introduction to gold panning
The day will be devoted to discovering the richness of the local fauna and flora. The many insects and butterflies, including the famous morphos, can be observed during this walking tour.

Embarkation by catamaran to reach the Salvation Islands. Free discovery of Île Royale, where convicts were once deported. Alfred Dreyfus and Guillaume Seznec were the most famous prisoners, as well as Henri Charriere who described in his book Papillon his stay and his attempts to escape, which gave the film of the same name. In the afternoon, drop off on Île Saint-Joseph, relax and swim. Return to Kourou at the end of the day.

After a good breakfast very early, drive and visit Kourou. Guided tour of the Guyana Space Centre. Presentation of the history of the European space conquest in the Jupiter "control tower" room where operational staff, but also customers, VIPs and the media gather for the launch of the Ariane rocket. The visit continues with the observation of the Ariane IV and V firing steps.
