KathmanduArrival in Kathmandu. Welcome at Tribhuvan airport and transfer to hotel. Evening dinner at leisure with the possibility of a show featuring traditional dances in a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
day 3:
KathmanduBreakfast at the hotel. Visit to Pashupatinath, Boudhnath and Patan. Situated on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River, the temple of Lord Shiva Pasupatinath with its two-tiered golden roof is famous for its architecture. It attracts many pilgrims on Maha Shivaratri day. Non-Hindus are not allowed inside the temple precincts, but visitors can see it clearly and watch the activities inside the temple from across the Bagmati. You may also see a cremation taking place on the banks of the river. Continuing on to Buddhnath, this gigantic stupa is one of the tallest in the world (36 metres high) and the largest in the valley. It is the perfect embodiment of Tibetan Buddhism. Lunch in a local restaurant. Visit to Patan, ‘the city of beauty’, one of the valley's three ancient capitals. Patan is packed with Buddhist temples, palaces, shrines and monasteries. Patan is rich in architectural treasures: the Royal Palace is a perfect example. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
day 4:
Kathmandu to Chitwan (170 km in 5 to 6 hours)Breakfast at Chitwan. At the foot of the Himalayas, Chitwan is one of the few undisturbed remnants of the Terai region. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including the one-horned Asian rhinoceros and is also one of the last refuges of the Bengal tiger. Lunch at leisure. Departure for the safari, where you will take a jeep tour, a boat trip and jungle walks to see the park's abundant flora and fauna. Dinner at leisure and overnight at the hotel.
day 5:
ChitwanThen breakfast. Day devoted to the continuation of safari activities. Lunch and dinner at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
day 6:
Chitwan to Pokhara (160 km in 4 to 5 hours)Breakfast and departure for Pokhara. Lunch at leisure. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
day 7:
PokharaEarly morning drive to Sarangkot to watch the sunrise over the Himalayas. Enjoy tea/coffee at a local place in Sarangkot. This is a 1,600m high hill on the north shore of Lake Phewa. On the way to Sarangkot, you will pass through the Schima-Catonopsis forest and have many opportunities to observe the different species of birds. From Sarangkot, you can see the Pokhara valley and the Annapurna range. You can also see Lake Phewa and its tributaries. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Visit to the city, which is divided into three distinct areas: the Bazaar, the airport district and Baidam on the shore of Lake Pheva. Lunch on board. Boat trip on the lake. The Barahi-Bhawani temple is nearby on a small island. Barahi is said to be one of the manifestations of the goddess Kali, so animals are sacrificed to her on days of worship. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
day 8:
Pokhara to KathmanduBreakfast. Return to Kathmandu. Free lunch on the way. Free time in the local Kathmandu market. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
day 9:
Departure from KathmanduThen breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your scheduled return flight.
