Tourist tours in Kinshasa

Trip description

Kinshasa province remains a particular tourist region, through its urbanization, the high density of its population and the presence of places that reflect the history of the city and the country. A cosmopolitan cosmopolitan capital city, a mongrel and spiral city, it is also the seat of national and international institutions, with the bonus of attractive natural sites located on the edge and most often enjoying proximity to the Congo River. A wealth of heritage that takes place in historic, natural, cultural and leisure sites, spread over three axes and from which thematic circuits can emerge.

The entire Kinshasa valley is made up of the first cities that explain the architectural evolution of the city. The corridor of the districts of Funa and Mont Amba to the so-called "inspired" hill where the University of Kinshasa is perched, the remains of Chief Lungwala (Bandalungwa), as well as the cities resulting from urban disorder. A sanctuary of cultural and sporting life with the stadiums that have made the history of the city: Cardinal Malula ex-Reine Astrid stadium, Tata Raphaël stadium, Martyrs of Pentecost stadium and the Tata Raphaël stadium which remains so mythical for having hosted the Ali-Foreman fight, the passage of King Pelé and Santos of Brazil, the James Brown show and many others... The playgrounds, schools and churches that have accompanied the evolution of the city and testify to the dynamism of the Kinois from the 1940s to the present. The first musical groups were created in this central corridor, thanks to the existence of "temples of atmosphere" (Vis-à-Vis, Un, deux trois or Type K bars...). These places had their moment of glory by punctuating the night life of the Kinoise. In the meantime, Matonge (formerly Quartier Renkin) has established itself as the cradle of Chinese music with Papa Wemba and Viva la Musica in particular, while the Yolo district (Dallas) and the municipalities of Kasa-Vubu and Bandalungwa (fiefdom of Wenge Musica) continue to compete.
