As soon as you arrive in Managua, there is no time out, drive to San Juan del Sur or Popoyo to enjoy the beach.
On the program of this second day: surf, sun and parties await you. A great introduction to start your holiday!
Leave the ocean to reach Lake Nicaragua by visiting the island of Ometepe. It is one of the most beautiful islands in the world.
Many discoveries await you such as Santo Domingo (the most beautiful beach on the island), the magnificent sunset from Punta Jesús María, the legends of the Charco Verde lagoon, and the many scenes of rural life.
Relax by the lake or basin of the Ojo de Agua, climb the Maderas volcano. Other fantastic sites are there: archaeology, natural swimming pools, kayaking, community tourism...
Take the road to Granada, one of the two main colonial cities in the country. From here you can take a boat tour in the midst of the famous isletas. The city also has an active nightlife.
The Mombacho volcano nature reserve (still active, you can admire the flaming lava), the Apoyo lagoon and the white pueblos craft villages are located near Granada: ideal for day trips.
By way of Managua, reach León. It is the second largest colonial city in Nicaragua. The architecture is a little less well maintained than in Granada, but the atmosphere is more student, more festive (certainly also a little less touristic)
For the more adventurous, it is possible to go down the sandy slopes of Cerro Negro by sled! Beautiful hikes are also possible on the many other surrounding volcanoes
Surfers and idlers can go to Las Penitas to enjoy the gentle sound of the waves.
Small colonial town where you can visit a cigar factory (to choose from among 70 factories!), dive into the memories of the Revolution, and admire the wall frescoes
A few excursions are available in the surrounding area, including those to the magical Miraflor or Tisey nature reserve.
One hour north, we can go to Somoto Canyon for a water hike.
Return to Managua to fly to Big Corn Island, paradise island in the middle of the Caribbean Sea.
Possibility of taking beautiful walks along the coast, and spending very festive evenings on weekends.
Take a day to do some wonderful dives.
Take the boat to Little Corn Island, one of the most peaceful places in the country (if not the most peaceful). No cars, no roads, no shoes, no stress. Perfect for relaxing! Be careful with the days that pass by...
Relaxation on the beaches and a walk on the island.
Reach Big Corn Island again to return to Managua, the final destination of the trip.
