Discovery of Tarragona. Visit of the old town including the Roman Forum, the circus and the Pretorium Tower, the amphitheatre and the cathedral. Dinner in the Serrallo, a picturesque fishing district of Tarragona.
Beach day! We suggest for example those of El Vendrell or and Calafell for families, Salou for young people, Altafulla for couples, and El Torn for nudists! Whatever your final choice, the sand will always be golden and the water always blue.
To start the day, we will choose between swimming with the bluefin tuna via the Tuna Tour expedition (departure from the port of L'Ametlla de Mar) and a guided snorkeling excursion (departure from L'Ametlla de Mar beach) to learn a little more about the underwater world in the region. In the afternoon: hike on the GR92 trail to discover the secret coves and beaches of the coast, between L'Ametlla de Mar and L'Ampolla(to avoid during the hot weather!). You can also choose this last option to occupy the morning and bubble on a beach lined with pines in the afternoon!
Visit of the historical centre of Tortosa, capital of the Ebro Lands. Passage through the cathedral and its treasures, the royal colleges, the Prince's gardens and Suda Castle.
Discovery of the Ebro Delta Natural Park. On the programme: cycling tourism and bird watching that nest by the hundreds in the park, a stroll through the rice fields and lagoons, tasting of the delta's specialities.
Go to the port of Sant Carles de la Ràpita for a mussels and oysters tasting at Musclarium, stilts restaurant installed in the bay. Visit of the Iberian village of the Moleta del Remei to Alcanar and cave paintings of the Sierra de Godall.
Hiking on the paths of the Els Ports Natural Park to discover monumental trees and wild goats! Visit the information centre to learn about the different ways to visit the park. Huge, it has several accesses to La Sénia, Roquetes and Arnes.
In the morning, walk in the historical centre of Horta, following in the footsteps of Picasso and cubism. For those who still have strength (allow 45 minutes to reach Miravet by car), the afternoon continues towards the villages on the banks of the Ebro, from the meander of Flix to the castle of the Templars which dominates Miravet. For lovers of active tourism, kayaking on the tranquil waters of the river is recommended.
Wine tourism day with a visit to the "wine cathedrals" of Gandesa and El Pinell de Brai of César Martinel, disciple of Gaudí, followed by a wine tasting of Terra Alta in the village of Batea in the picturesque historical centre.
After visiting the Chartreuse of Escaladei, direction Falset, head of the Mp, with a visit of the cooperative and tasting, again, the very good local wine production. The wine experience can be further extended by undertaking the visit of one or more wineries.
Discovery of the Cistercian monasteries of Poblet de Santes Creus, either via the GR 175 (compulsory hiking shoes!) or by road. The opportunity is then perfect to take a walk in the massif de Prades, with a necessary stop in the small village of Siurana.
Vals, kilometre 0 of the world Casteller (these famous Catalan human towers) offers the visitor his religious heritage; Puis, its imposing medieval ramparts and its beautiful city centre. After the visit of these two cities, a small wine tasting of Del's Conca is required in one of the very good restaurants of the old town.
On the way back to the coast, a day devoted to Reus is not too much. After visiting the very good Gaudí centre, stroll through the city to discover its modernist heritage (including the Pere Mata Institute), shop (clothing and gourmet products) before sipping a fresh vermouth on the terrace. If the appetite is felt, everything will go well, Reus is full of good addresses.
Finally, it's all about taste: or you can choose to dedicate your last day to sunbathing, in this case you can choose the Hospitalet de l'Infant, its water sports resort (shared with 5 other municipalities along the Costa Daurada coast) allowing a wide variety of water sports and its magnificent nudist beach "El Torn", or Cambrils, its wide family beaches and its seafront promenade with excellent Mediterranean restaurants, including some starred ones; or we will decide to spend the day in the excellent theme park PortAventura World, in search of thrills in a family atmosphere.
