Visit of the market to fish and walks at sea with fishermen aboard a catamaran.




Day 3 : Discovery of wildlife

Departure north along the coast to get to know the Catholic country. Take 5 good hours to reach Anuradhapura. A visit to Wilpattu Park can be considered. This park houses a wide fauna (bears, elephants, leopards...).




Day 4 : Anuradhapura

Visit of Anuradhapura, one of the jewels of the Cultural Triangle with its immense dagobas. Take a day to visit the sacred city by taking your time.




Day 5 : Mihintal

Visit Mihintale, about 30 minutes drive from Anuradhapura. This amazing place dedicated to Buddhist worship offers wonderful rocky landscapes above the jungle and is well worth a 3 to 4 hour visit. Then it takes about 2 hours and a half to reach Trincomalee.

Day 7 : Beating the temples

Relax on the beach of Nilaveli, a few kilometres north of Trincomalee. There are several very pleasant hotels and there are miles of deserted beaches lined with coral reefs that will delight lovers of snorkeling.




Day 9 : Towards the old kingdoms

Departure for the circuit of the old kingdoms, with a stop to Ritigala hermitages, punctuated by a chaussée chaussée in a jungle reserve where wild elephants abound. Arrival in Polonnaruwa late in the day.

Visit of Polonnaruwa, a former religious and cultural capital of the island in the th century. The full visit of the historic site, with its temples, monasteries, museum and the edges of the lake, deserves a day. In the evening, leave for Sigiriya to take the ascent of the citadel from dawn.




Day 11 : Sigiriya



Visit of the Sigiriya fortress followed by an afternoon of rest.

Direction Naturelle nature reserve in the morning to explore the wild elephants, then departure to Kandy. On the road, stop at Cave Cave Temple. Before you arrive in Kandy, stroll in one of the many spice gardens. Arrival in the evening in Kandy.

Visit of Kandy, the Tooth Temple and museums, stroll through the city.




Day 14 : Meeting with elephants

Visit the Peradeniya Botanical Garden and the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. Return to Kandy in the evening.




Day 15 : Tea plantations

Departure by train (recommended) or by car for Nuwara Eliya. Visit of the tea plantations. Walk in Nuwara Eliya and discover ancient colonial palaces.




Day 16 : The Knuckles

Departure in the morning for the Knuckles and discovery of one of the most beautiful panoramas of the island. Return to Nuwara Eliya and departure for Adam's Peak (Sri Pada). Night at the foot of the mountain.




Day 17 : The ascent of Adam's Peak

In the night, departure for the ascent of Sri Pada, place of pilgrimage frequented by all the denominations of the island. Arrive at the top of the mountain in the early morning to attend the sunrise and return to the bottom of the afternoon. Rest in Nuwara Eliya.




Day 18 : Wildlife Discovery

Departure for Ruhuna National Park (Yala West). Discovery safari to meet wild elephants, leopards, birds and other protected species. Stop in Kataragama for a visit to the sanctuary. A variation of Yala's visit is the discovery of Uda Walawe Park, where elephants are particularly numerous and the crowd is smaller.
