Arrival at Colombo International Airport. Welcome upon arrival, then transfer to Negombo (approx. 15 min / 8 km).
Known as "Little Rome," this port city is home to one of the largest fishing communities on the island, mostly Catholic. You can see many churches near the shore where fishermen moor their catamarans. Every morning (except Sundays), fishermen sell their catch at the beachfront auction.

After breakfast, explore the Negombo Fish Market (except Sundays).
Then, head to Sigiriya, with visits to Pinnawala and Dambulla on the way (approx. 4h16min / 176 km).
Visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (approx. 2.5 hours / 107 km). Established in 1975, the orphanage started with seven orphaned elephants. Today, it serves as a sanctuary for abandoned or injured elephants, cared for with love and affection. The elephants bathe daily in a nearby river. Pinnawala has grown into a conservation and educational center, with a breeding program for elephants.

Visit Dambulla and its famous Rock Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This vast rock complex is the largest cave temple complex in Sri Lanka, dating back to the 3rd century. After breakfast, depart for Kandy, with a stop at the Matale Spice Garden (approx. 3h10min / 101 km).

Continue to the sacred city of Kandy, situated in the hills of Sri Lanka.
Visit the Temple of the Tooth, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which houses one of Buddhism’s most revered relics, the Tooth of Buddha. Kandy was the last capital of the Sinhalese kings. The temple is deeply connected to the history of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
