Culture and nature of Uzbekistan in 15 days

Reception and transfer to the hotel. Settling in and the rest of the night at the hotel. At noon, excursions in the old town of the capital of Uzbekistan. The city is full of trees because we are not far from the mountain areas. Visit Khast Imam square where the medersa of Barakhan, the Tilla Sheikh mosque, and the mausoleum of Kafal Shashi (XVI c) stand. After an early breakfast, transfer to the airport and flight at 07:00 am to Ourgentch (1h20 flight time). Arrival and transfer to Khiva (35km). Installation at the hotel. Full day dedicated to the visit of this open-air museum city classified by UNESCO as World Cultural Heritage and former stopover of the Silk Road. Lunch and dinner in an old caravanserai. Night at the charming hotel.

Breakfast. Visit of the Khiva khans palaces outside Ichan-Kala. Nurullabay and Tozabog palaces. Return to Itchan Kala. Lunch in Itchan Kala. Free time in Khiva. Night at the charming hotel.

Breakfast. Departure for Bukhara by car with air-conditioning. The road passes through the desert of Kizil Koum (Red Sand). The special beauty of the Central Asian desert reminds us of the times of the brave caravanners who used to cross this sea of sand on the back of a camel. Picnic lunch in a café on the road. Arrival in Bukhara, accommodation in a traditional-style hotel. Dinner in a restaurant in the city.

Breakfast. Visiting day. Divine Bukhara! One of the oldest cities of Central Asia, pillar of Islam with its 365 mosques. Spiritual and commercial center whose importance does not diminish over the centuries. We start the visit with the Mausoleum of the Samanids, a Persian dynasty ruled over the territory of Central Asia. Visit to the Mausoleum of Prophet Job and the well with the sacred water. Visit the Ark Citadel, residence of the Emirs of Bukhara and the Bolo Khauz Mosque. Visit of the central part of the city - Chakhristan: Poi-Kalon complex, the Great Minaret of Bukhara, here you will know why Genghis-khan left this minaret and destroyed all other monuments. The Mir-Arab Medersa (first Koranic school in Central Asia), the Great Mosque (unique in Central Asia by its size). Lunch at the tchaikhana (a type of local restaurant). At Sitora i Mokhi Khossa, you will discover the most venerated monument of Bukhara, the Mausoleum of Bakhaouddin Nakhchbandi, named after a highly respected founder of Sufic Islam who is said to have said: "If you sow the seed of good, it will grow in seven years and give seven hundred good deeds". Dinner in the Nodir Devonbegui medersa with the folklore show and parade of silk costumes. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, breakfast. Visit of the gallery and passage to Shirin village 20 km from Bukhara. Meeting with craftsmen and villagers. Participation in the Gastronomic Workshop: Uzbek Pilaf. Overnight at the local's house.

Breakfast, then early departure for Nourata. En route stop to visit the pottery workshop Gijduvan Private. Presentation by the ceramist on the types of Uzbek ceramics. Drive to Nourata. Stop at the Nourata oasis and visit the ruins of Alexander the Great's fortress, the Chil Ustun and Panjvakhta mosques. Drive to the yurt camp. Arrival and installation at the nomadic yurts. Overnight in the yurts.

Breakfast. Then departure for Village Hayat. Installation in a guesthouse. Lunch in the guesthouse.
Small hike to admire a herd of mouflons which are protected by the State. Dinner around the table with locals, the traditional dish can be varied depending on the day. If you come across Thursday or Sunday, it is Uzbek pilaf that awaits you. Night in the hotel house.

Breakfast. Hiking on the mountains. Duration 2 hours. Return to the guesthouse. Road to Samarkand (250 km, 4 hours). Arrival in Samarkand at the end of the evening. Installation at the hotel. Dinner in a restaurant in the city. Night at a charming hotel.

Breakfast. Visits to the monuments of Samarkand, capital of Tamerlan. Visit of the Gour Emir Mausoleum (Tomb of Tamerlan), True "threshold of Paradise" for artists and dreamers: the Reghistan Square surrounded by the marvellous Medersas of Ouloug Beg, Chir-Dor and Tilla-Kari, decorated with dazzling earthenware, the witnesses of the evolution of Timurid architecture...

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Chakhrissabz, Tamerlan's hometown. Arrival and visit of Chakhrissabz. Visit the ruins of the White Palace - Ak Saray (XIV c.) Behind the walls of the mausoleum is the mosque of Khazrati Imam (Saint Imam) dated XIX c. which completes the architectural complex which bears the name Dorus Saodat (The House of Power) .

Breakfast. Departure for Urgut, a town located 45 km from Samarkand. Visit of the bazaar of Urgut. Traditional clothing of women and men as well as children, gold thread embroidery. An unequalled fascination to admire this bazaar. Return to Samarkand. Lunch in a restaurant in the city. Visit of the mausoleum of Prophet Daniel, prophet of three religions, a part of the body of the prophet was brought from the Near East by Tamerlan in the 14th century. Free time in Samarkand. Night at the charming hotel.

PD. Transfer to Samarkand station for departure to Tashkent by TGV. Arrival in Tashkent. Dinner in a restaurant. Overnight in hotel.
