Walks in several parts of the city. The Red Square, theJordaan, visit a hofje (the beguinage of the Spui, perhaps?), hang out along the canals, spot the different types of gables, etc.
We will start the day with the discovery of the architect Berlage with a visit to the Stock Exchange and then familiarize ourselves with the Amsterdam school via the Scheepvaarthuis (Navigation House, now the superb luxury hotel Amrâth Amsterdam) considered as the first building entirely built according to the rules of the Amsterdam school. We will continue with a visit to the famous Het Schip museum, in the heartouest of the city. During the day, it is recommended to have a drink at the Leidseplein American café to admire its Art Deco style and also to stop by the Tuschinski cinema and see a film in the large theatre of this remarkably renovated Art Deco style complex.
You can start this third day with a ferry crossing on the other side of the IJ to discover EYE, the recent film library designed by the Austrian firm Delugan-Meissl. Make a canvas or brunch on site then head back to the station and pass by the public library designed by Jo Coenenen and continue through the islands of l'est and especially that of Java to see the modern interpretation of the city's canals. End the day with a concert at Muziekgebouw aan het IJ.
