This route favours the northern part of the country. The Karakoram Highway, which links Pakistan with China, replaces or borders certain sections of the former and mythical Silk Route. Asphalt replaced the land and freight trucks succeeded the caravans, but wonder remains intact.

Departure from Islamabad to Naran.
Trek to Saif-ul-Malook Lake (approximately three hours), surrounded by water surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Lunch on site, at 3 224 meters above sea level. Return to Naran.
Stroll in the village of Naran then leave for Fairy Meadows, a meadow dotted with pine forests and dominated by one of the most prestigious mountains in the Himalayas, Nanga Parbat (8,125 m). Try to arrive before sunset and sleep on site.

Departure to Gilgit. Depending on the time of arrival, you can see Kargah Buddha, a Buddha figure carved in the rock or buy some local souvenirs in the market.
Explore the Astore valley and the charming village of the same name.
Heading for Karimabad. Visit the fort of Baltit and taste local specialities at Hidden Paradise restaurant.
Choose one of the possible treks from Karimabad, and later, at the end of the day, join Eagle Nest, where the seven peaks surrounding the valley colour pink and orange at sunset.
To slow down the tempo, take a walk in the village of Karimabad, where you can buy some souvenirs, and in the nearby village of Altit. Visit its beautifully restored fort and the surrounding alleys.
Climb the Karakoram Highway, direction Passu. Cross the turquoise lake of Attabad. Dine at Glacier Breeze and taste the chef's famous apricot pie. Yourself yourself from the fabulous star nights of this tiny village.
Rent a 4x4 and drive up the Karakoram Higway to Khunjerab Pass. Greet the yaks and golden marmots. Go back to Passu and sleep and enjoy its calm, black and starry nights.

Leave for Skardu. Explore the city and its bazaar.
Leave early in the morning for the Deosai Plateau, which extends over 3,000 square kilometres at an altitude of 4,000 metres. Spend the day on these wild and silent lands, surrounded by a diverse fauna and flora and spend the night in Shigar. Stay overnight at Serena Shigar Fort, the former palace of Raja de Shigar, beautifully renovated and transformed into a hotel.
Stroll through the village and visit the ancient wooden mosques.
Return to Skardu. Flight to Islamabad.
