Starting point, the Karlstor, then go down the shopping street Neuhauser to Marienplatz, the place de l'Hôtel-de-Ville. On the way you will have taken the time to admire the interior of the Michel church at 52 Neuhauserstraße. Lunch break in a pastry shop on Marienplatz and, if you arrive before noon, stand in front of the carillon of the town hall to see its little characters come out. From Marienplatz continue along Dienerstraße, then Residenzstraße, towards the museum. Visit the Treasure Room. Walk to the beautiful Odeonplatz, admire the majesty of the place, an architecture worthy of the greatest capitals. Return to Theathinerstraße and Weinstraße and take a look at the luxurious shops.
From Marienplatz, follow the direction of Isartor via the Viktualienmarkt. Spend a good time strolling around the market, breathing in the smells, getting into deli meats, and, if you're already hungry, grab a snack in an Imbiss (snack bar). After the Isartor, walk to the Louis Bridge (Ludwig Brücke), overlook the Isar River and look towards the Museum Island. Spend a moment at the Deutsches Museum of Science and Technology (first hour free of charge), choosing in advance the sector that fascinates you the most because it is gigantic. Go back and enter by the Sendinger Tor, visit absolutely the church of the Brothers Asam!
Also accessible by tram and bus if you don't want to take the car. You have to spend the day there, especially in the summer months. Visit of the castles à la carte and a bucolic walk in the park. Possibility of lunch on site or picnic on the lawns.
Starting point, the Cuvilliés theatre. Discover the back of the Residenz and its garden and then continue to the English garden. Go up the slope to the temple of Monopteros to enjoy the view of the Munich steeples and take a look at the Japanisches Teehaus. Eating in a Biergarten. In the afternoon, why not stroll along the banks of the Isar, especially in summer? Since the major works undertaken to make the banks more accessible, the people of Munich have never tired of spending their weekends fishing, playing sports and, above all, having a drink with many snacks along the river. And it is not impossible to meet nudists.
Located about twenty kilometres from Munich, the memorial of the Dachau concentration camp allows visitors to become aware of the horrors of war and the Holocaust. The tours are in German and English, allow about 2h30 for the visit and 3 per person.
Take a two-day stroll around the Bavarian lakes starting with Ammersee, an hour's drive from Munich. Trains can also take you there. Perfect for swimming, boating or just walking. Spend a night on the shores of the lake to make the most of the atmosphere.
Continue your trip around the lakes to Starnbergersee, which is an hour's drive from the Ammersee lake. Hiking, idleness or visiting Possenhofen Castle, where Sissi, the Empress, spent part of her childhood, will provide something for everyone. Again, sleeping on the spot will only make your trip more pleasant.
A day to please the children and have fun. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Oktoberfest, stroll around the huge fairgrounds and drink a beer with the locals. Treat them by taking them to the zoo for the day (6 km south of the city). Morning dedicated to Pinakothek and then to Schwabing to discover an emblematic district of Munich, immerse yourself in a young and student atmosphere, going up the impressive Leopoldstraße to Münchner Freiheit.
From the Karlstor walk to the station and then follow the direction of Theresienwiese (Oktoberfest location) by walking in the Schwanthalerhöher district. This district is full of heterogeneous shops, oriental grocery stores, kebab, etc. One can be surprised by these cosmopolitan streets.
