Vineyards of the Combe de Savoie

VIGNOBLES DE LA COMBE DE SAVOIE

Discovery of 4 vineyards & lunch in a typical family inn All the vineyards of the Combe de Savoie are located at an altitude ranging from 250 to 500 m on the steep slopes of the Bauges massif. Cevins and Saint-Pierre-de-Soucy have an impressive slope of 60 degrees. Working in the vineyards there is difficult; everything must be done by hand. This Wine Route of the Combe de Savoie, as it is called, is an invitation to taste around twenty vintages, including 2 A.O.C. Set off to discover the vineyards of Montmélian, Arbin, Cruet, and Saint-Jean-de-la-Porte, located just a few kilometers from your accommodation, and enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains as well as the Bauges Massif.

  • day 2

    Vineyards of Chignin and Apremont

Discovery of 2 vineyards in Apremont and 2 vineyards in Chignin - Lunch in a restaurant specializing in Savoyard terroir. Located at the foot of the Massif des Bauges, the village of Chignin benefits from exceptional conditions: a south to southeast exposure, protection from northern winds by the mountains, a soil made of limestone, and steep slopes. All these elements contribute to the production of an emblematic Savoyard wine. Not far from there, the Apremont vineyard has also found an environment conducive to its development, thanks to exceptional sunshine and a predominantly limestone and stony soil, notably due to the landslide of Mont Granier that occurred more than 750 years ago. Meet the winemakers of Chignin and Apremont, stop in the villages of Myans or Les Marches, and fall under the charm of these small Savoyard villages. The lake of Saint-André, located nearby, is also worth a visit!

  • day 3

    Vineyards of Jongieux

    VIGNOBLES DE JONGIEUX

Discovery of 4 little-known vineyards located in the Avant-Pays Savoyard. In the heart of an exceptional setting, situated between the Rhône and the mountains, at the crossroads of the Alps and the geological massif of the Jura, crossed by the Camino de Santiago, the Jongieux vineyard reveals sumptuous landscapes composed of hills and valleys located at 350 m altitude. Between continental and Mediterranean climates, this steep vineyard benefits from abundant rainfall and a more or less clayey soil. The Jongieux vintage dates back to the 16th century, but its history remains little known. Stroll through the vineyards and enjoy a visit followed by a wine tasting at a renowned estate. Continue your day with a gourmet meal in a Michelin-starred restaurant. Savor refined and creative cuisine in a charming inn perched at the top of the slope of the famous Marestel vintage. A gourmet and indulgent journey! Don't hesitate to stop at Lake Bourget on your way down. From Chanaz, you have the possibility to reach the start of the Dent du Chat hike, located 30 minutes by car from your accommodation, or to stroll near the Abbey of Hautecombe. Take on the Grand Colombier and the mountains of the Épine Chain: you will reach the starting points of these hikes in about twenty minutes by car.
