Trip Description

Discover the most beautiful parks in Northern Tanzania with Tanzania Wildlife Adventures! The Big Five Safari includes visits to Tanzania's most popular northern national parks. Travel is in customised 4×4 safari vehicles with open roofs for game viewing.  This is a safari where each participant has window seats (minimum 2 people, maximum 6 people). The 5-day safari includes meals (drinks extra), accommodation, park entrance fees and visits to Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, guide and English speaking assistant.

  • day 1:

    Day 1: Kilimanjaro Airport - Springlands Hotel

    Day 1: Kilimanjaro Airport - Springlands Hotel

    Pick up at Kilimanjaro airport and transfer to Springlands Hotel or similar for day and overnight with breakfast. Overnight at Springlands Hotel or similar (full board, drinks extra).

  • day 2:

    Day 2: Tarangire - Highview

    Day 2:  Tarangire - Highview

    After breakfast, head to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is crossed by the river Tarangire, which never dries up completely. Being the only source of water during the dry season, it attracts hundreds of animals to the park, making wildlife and bird watching spectacular. The landscape is varied, with grassy savannah plains, swamps, hills and spectacular baobabs. Much of the Big Five can be seen at Tarangire Park. At the end of the day, you will be taken to Highview for the night. Overnight in Highview Hotel or similar (full board).

  • day 3:

    Day 3: Serengeti - Camp

    Day 3:  Serengeti - Camp

    After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park. The word "Serengeti" is derived from the Maasai language, meaning "endless plain". On the way to the Serengeti, you can choose to visit a Maasai village, a perfect place to explore Maasai culture and even participate in some tribal activities (at your own expense).  Or visit the Olduvai Gorge, known as the cradle of humanity; the museum is a testimony of the long journey that humanity has made from its humble roots in East Africa to its present state of dominant species on earth. Enjoy a safari to your lodge. Overnight at Serengeti Wildbeest Camp or similar (full board).

    Day 4: Serengeti - Ngorongoro

    Day 4:  Serengeti - Ngorongoro

    Relax for a full day in the Serengeti - unparalleled beauty and home to the great wildebeest migration. Huge herds of wildebeest, zebras and antelopes dominate the park, while predators such as lions and cheetahs are among the many kopjes scattered across the plain. The landscape varies between open grassy plains to the south, a savannah dotted with acacias in the centre, rolling and wooded meadows to the north, and vast forests and plains of black clay to the west. In the middle of the day, you will take the crater road to spend the night at Ngorongoro Wild Camp.

    Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater - Camp

    Enjoy a morning safari en route to the Ngorongoro crater. Descent into the Ngorongoro crater for an exploration and safari. The crater has a depth of 600 m, a diameter of 16 km and an area of 265 km². Enjoy spectacular scenery and animal watching, in what has been described as the eighth wonder of the world. Many of Tanzania’s last black rhinos can be seen grazing on the open meadows at the bottom of the crater, surrounded by some of the 20,000 large animals that occupy the crater, including lions, cheetahs, It’s got a lot of prunes, zebras and gazelles. Flamingos, among other bird species, can often be seen feeding at Makat Soda Lake. Then you’ll spend the night in Highview. Overnight in Ngorongoro Wild Camp or similar (full board).

  • day 6:

    Day 6: Lake Manyara Hotel - Springlands

    Day 6: Lake Manyara Hotel - Springlands

    After breakfast, your driver will drive you in the morning to Manyara Lake National Park. Leaning against the steep escarpment of the Rift Valley, you will find the Manyara Lake National Park with its evergreen groundwater forest and its variety of ecosystems, including acacian forests, grassy plains, a marshy delta and, of course, the vast lake. This diversity attracts a wide variety of mammals, birds and wildlife. The Manyara is also home to rare tree-climbing lions. The park offers excellent opportunities to observe game: buffaloes, impalas, giraffes, bushbucks, waterbucks, hippopotamus and many elephants walk by the lake. Overnight at Springlands Hotel or similar (full board).
