Angola will surprise you with its landscapes and culture.
Angola: Dive into an unforgettable African adventure
The bustling Angolan capital enjoys an exceptional location facing the splendid natural bay of Luanda and Ilha do Cabo. Luanda reflects more than four centuries of Portuguese colonial history.
Since 2002, oil companies, banks, insurance firms, etc. have been constructing imposing modern buildings, symbols of their power, which multiply in the heart of Cidade Baixa and beyond. The city is a vast construction site. Newly expanded over the sea, the Marginal, a grand boulevard that runs along the bay from the 16th-century Fortaleza S. Miguel to the port, surprises with its dimensions and the high quality of its developments and plantings. However, very quickly, and from the first streets perpendicular to the Marginal, visitors find themselves on damaged roads with congested and chaotic traffic. Some Luandans say they travel only one kilometer per hour! Inhabitants of outlying districts spend as much time commuting daily as they do at work... The rainy season can block their access for a few hours or even days. Everything here is a contrast: skyscrapers and muddy streets, gleaming 4x4s and street children, futuristic constructions and dilapidated historical buildings, giant cranes and dark streets away from main roads, slums and new ultra-modern neighborhoods, glaring inequalities. And this bay is so beautiful!

Land of Welcome and Contrasts
From the mythical and northern Congo River to the Kunene, which flows south into the Namibe Desert, Angola stretches over more than 1,600 km of Atlantic coastline. On the other side of the river, the exclaved province of Cabinda and its extraordinary tropical forest extend between the Atlantic Ocean and the two Congos, offering high plateaus with stunning landscapes. Everywhere, vast spaces and unexplored places await you, as well as encounters with open and smiling locals. Pre-Bantu people on a land of kingdoms that endured over four centuries of Portuguese occupation, Angola is the third-largest economy in sub-Saharan Africa after South Africa and Nigeria. Rich in oil and diamonds, this country is experiencing rapid economic growth with giant strides. This land of hospitality and contrasts awaits adventurous visitors eager to discover one of the last African destinations opening up to tourism.
An Enriching Cultural Blend
Four centuries of cultural blending have shaped Angola, the result of a long Portuguese presence on the coast and historical dynamics that have fostered racial and cultural mixing. This has led to the emergence of a mixed society, particularly visible in the cities. "Among whites" is rare here. Whether in a hotel, a restaurant, a bar, or on a beach, everyone meets and mingles. And that's all for the better.
