Explore the wild and authentic Chad

Discover the heart of Africa in Chad.

A trip to Chad, an unforgettable exploration.

Explore Chad, a unique African adventure.

Chad is a country not widely open to tourism, thus retaining all its authenticity. There is no mass tourism, and the population has not yet felt its negative effects. Most Chadians are natural in their behavior and happily welcome foreigners. Discovering Chad is primarily about becoming aware of the cultural clash between a population struggling to survive and a foreigner often seen as a source of income. Ecotourism is a future solution that has been adopted in some tourist regions of Chad (Zakouma, Léré). This solution allows the population to better preserve their environment and manage their natural resources while introducing their living spaces to responsible travelers.

Journey to the Heart of Authentic Africa

Discover a country where authenticity and wild nature meet in a dazzling display. Chad, with its varied landscapes, takes you from vast desert expanses to the rugged mountains of Tibesti, offering a unique travel experience. Explore the hidden oases that dot the desert, true havens of peace where one can appreciate the whisper of palm trees swayed by the wind. Meet the local cultures, where each encounter is an invitation to share unforgettable moments over traditional tea. Let yourself be charmed by the rich wildlife of Zakouma National Park, where elephants and lions coexist under the watchful gaze of royal eagles. Chad is also a land of history, with its millennia-old rock paintings in Ennedi, silent witnesses of ancient civilizations. Whether you're seeking adventure or cultural immersion, this country promises unforgettable memories under a majestic starry sky.

The Call of Adventure

Thrill-seekers will not be disappointed by the complete change of scenery this country offers. The very lack of infrastructure adds an adventurous character to all the steps a tourist may need to take. Desert trips require good physical condition. Car journeys are challenging, and distances are measured more in hours than in kilometers. The adventure also includes camping in the desert or elsewhere in Chad, and having the chance to fall asleep under a starry sky lit with a thousand lights.

The Cradle of Humanity

Chad has been recognized as the cradle of humanity since July 19, 2001, thanks to the discovery of Toumaï, our ancestor who is 7 million years old. This historical treasure was unearthed in the Djourab desert during a paleontological mission led by a team composed of Chadians and French researchers. When one knows the north of Chad, its extreme beauty and its evolutionary history, it is understandable why some scientists suggest that the human brain was born there. This discovery adds to that of Abel in 1995, a jaw about 3.5 million years old, and arouses significant interest among those passionate about the history of human evolution. The rock paintings of Ennedi also represent an archaeological richness of worldwide renown.

A Breathtaking Nature

Due to its vastness, Chad represents the full range of possible variations of the desert's many faces: dunes moved by the wind of the Djourab erg, the Ennedi's plateaus shaped by wind erosion, the lush and vibrant oases of Faya-Largeau and Fada, caves adorned with rock paintings, gueltas carved out by centuries of runoff. In the center, you can stroll through the Guéra mountains and discover the rich wildlife of Zakouma National Park (Salamat). It is one of the last Sudanian-Sahelian ecosystems in Central Africa. The south will reveal to you the flourishing vegetation of the Logone-Chari basin, a precursor to the equatorial forest. Less known than some countries, Chad is also a paradise for bird watchers, with over 300 bird species recorded in Zakouma Park alone.
