Samaipata (or Santa Cruz) - Vallegrande. After lunch, visit the small museum of Vallegrande dedicated to the Comandante, with some unpublished photos, and the Lavandería, the hospital washhouse, where the lifeless body of the famous revolutionary was exposed to journalists. Then to the airfield landing strip, where, despite the animosity of the inhabitants who considered it a religious relic, Ernesto Guevara's body was found in 1999, dug up and repatriated to Cuba.
Valle Grande - La Higuera - Valle Grande. Early morning departure for the small village of La Higuera. A short hike (4 hours of round-trip walking) that takes us to the Churo ravine, through a landscape of conquest of the West. It was here that the Bolivian army ambushed and captured Che on October 8, 1967. Visit of the school where the Comandante was executed and the telegrapher's house, the scene of gunfire exchanges with the army. Return and overnight in Valle Grande.
