En route visit the Golden Temple of Dambulla, which was built by King Walagambahu in the 1st century BC and is now one of the World Heritage sites. You will pass from room to room to discover magnificent sculptures of Buddhas. Its walls and ceilings, covered with colourful paintings, represent the largest air of frescoes in the world. Attention for the visit of this temple, it is required to wear clothes that cover the knees and shoulders.

Departure by road to Kandy via : Sigiriya
Visit the Citadel of Sigiriya or "Lion's Rock", a romantic and grandiose ancient site with the world famous frescoes of the "Ladies of Sigiriya".
Visit Nalanda Gedige, the oldest stone building in Sri Lanka. It dates from the 8th century and is a remarkable blend of Hindu and Buddhist architecture. Probably a Mahayana shrine, its stones, which are currently being restored, show Tantric sculptures with sexual subjects, rare in Sri Lanka.
*Matalé: visit the spice gardens offering all the indigenous varieties such as peppers, cardamons, nutmeg, cloves, chili peppers... Tasting of spice tea and demonstration of the therapeutic virtues of each plant.

Cultural center of the country, the city fell to the English in 1815. After breakfast, drive to Colombo via Kithulgala, Norton Bridge, Laxapana and Ginigathlena, sites where many scenes from the famous film "Bridge over the River Kwai" were shot.
Discovery of the city of Colombo. Known since the 8th century by Arab, Persian and Chinese merchants. This village nestled between two dunes, served as a trading post on the spice route. The Portuguese, wishing to control the trade of the Indian Ocean, settled there and built in 1518, with the authorization of the King of Kotte, a fort intended for their prospection as well as a civil and military city, rich in churches, schools and hospitals.
