Marrakech Sahara tour

The first day of our 7 day Sahara Desert tour in Marrakech starts with your accommodation in Marrakech. A tour around some of Morocco's special destinations. First up today is the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou.

On the way you will discover the beauty of the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka road, at 2260m altitude. Offering you charming views, valleys, oases, mountains and Berber villages. In addition, we will stop for a chance to take some great photos.

Arrival at the World Heritage Site of the Kasbah of Ait ben Haddou. This place belonged to one of the most important families between the 16th and 17th century, "the Glaoui family". It is also a place that has attracted many filmmakers. They have shot some films here, such as "Jesus of Nazareth".

Lunch is provided for you to enjoy in this historical area.

After a quiet stay, we will resume our visit to Ouarzazate to explore one of the historic Kasbahs of the region, the Kasbah of Taourirt. Then we will visit the city of roses and its valley.

Finally, passing through the small Berber villages of Skoura. We will stop in Boumalne Dadès, where you will enjoy a traditional dinner and spend the night in a local Riad.

The second day of our Marrakech Sahara tour begins after breakfast in the beautiful town of Boumalne, today we will head to a special destination, the magnificent Merzouga. Passing through Tinghir, to visit the Todra Gorge the narrowest and highest spectacular gorge in Morocco. A unique place. Known worldwide as one of the most spectacular canyons in the world. After a quiet stay, we will continue to the famous town of Rissani where you will taste the traditional Berberis pizza for lunch.

Then after lunch we will continue to our unique destination. Arrival in Merzouga. Your driver will drive you to the hotel where you will spend the night.

On the third day of our 7 day Marrakech Sahara itinerary, your driver will pick you up from your hotel to start the tour. What makes this day special is that you will experience life in the desert and get to know the culture. To sum up, the first thing you will see is the National Automobile Museum.

Secondly, you will travel to see a Berber village which they call "Khamlia". This small village is where most of the people who immigrated from other African countries like "Gabon" live. You can taste their tea and also listen to the music they call "Gnaoua". After knowing their history, you will move to a very beautiful place close to the Algerian borders. Moreover, this area is the location of a Kohl mine.

Thirdly, your driver will take you again this time to discover the life of the nomads. These people are about 20 km from the borders, you will get to know all the parts of their tents, also where they cook and what they use for transport. After all, your driver will show you where the best food is. Again after lunch, you will move to see the oasis, where the agricultural land is located. Also, you will see the water system in the area.

Finally, it is time for the camel ride, your driver will take you there and the camels will lead you to the camp. In addition, you will watch the beautiful sunset on the way. After the camel ride, they will welcome you to the camp with tea. More importantly, after dinner, they will play their music for you under the starry sky.

The fourth day of the Marrakech Sahara tour starts after a quiet and relaxing night, we recommend you to get up early to not miss the sunrise. Also, breakfast will be at the camp or back at the hotel. We will cross the high atlas mountains again. You will have the chance to see the beautiful views of the Ziz gorges and the valley. After some pictures there, you will cross the Tizi Ntlghamt road where the most beautiful views are. After about 40 minutes you will arrive in Midelt where you will have lunch and spend the night.

The fifth day of our 7 day Sahara Desert itinerary in Marrakech begins with a drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains this time. You will see the town of Timhdite and the Berber people. In addition, you will see how green the mountains are and the agricultural land.

Secondly, from here you will drive through the cedar forest of Ifrane. Also, your driver will stop for you, so you can take pictures with the Barbary macaque monkeys and feed them. Finally, after 10 minutes, you will arrive in Ifrane. Moreover, they also call this town "Switzerland of Morocco" because it is so clean. After all that (discovering the city...) you will move to Fez where you will spend the night in a riad.

On the sixth day of our 7-day desert itinerary from Marrakech, starting after breakfast, you will explore the historic ramparts of the medina of Fez. In addition, you will see the historic Merinid tombs, the ceramics and the Madrasa Bouinania and its museum.

The seventh day of our 7-day tour from Marrakech to the Sahara begins after breakfast. We will leave the charming city of Fez and return to Marrakech. In other words, unfortunately, our memorable experience will end.
