This southwestern region of Morocco is relatively unknown and ignored by mass tourism. The Moroccan south is not only the desert, nor the Todra and Dades gorges, and not necessarily the must-sees of Ouarzazate.
The Anti-Atlas alone deserves a trip (or several!) that will delight the lover of traditional architecture, truly authentic encounters with the Berbers, sumptuous and contrasting landscapes composed of canyons and oases, and natural curiosities.
The tour proposed here over a week would really deserve to be extended to be able to approach the Anti-Atlas in a less touristic way, taking the time to share activities with the locals.

Day 8: Flight back
Reception at Agadir airport (also possible from Marrakech, but longer) by a shuttle chartered by the riad. Depending on the time of arrival, possibility of first discovery of the medina of Taroudant and/or carriage tour of the ramparts. Overnight with half board at Riad Tafilag 3*, well located in the city center. Small pool.
Your private driver will take you on a very scenic winding road to the Anti-Atlas, with several stops to visit abandoned but well-made agadirs. Once in the Ammeln Valley, at the foot of the highest peaks of the Anti-Atlas exceeding 3000 m, visit a house-museum in Oumesnate. Discovery of the painted rocks of Tafraoute (we prefer the unpainted ones!). Comfortable accommodation at the El Malara Guest House (good food, swimming pool, bar), not far from the famous rocks.
The Dades and the Todra can go and get dressed! The gorges of Ait Mansour already allow you to be amazed with beautiful palm groves and old photogenic villages. Then it's the turn of the Igmir canyon, an incredible cramped gorge that you can descend on foot with a little resourcefulness with several natural curiosities not to be missed (and you probably won't see any tourists there!). Then it continues with a gorge dotted with palm groves, ruined agadirs, amazing hills. Well-deserved rest while staying in the atmosphere at Borj Biramane (bath, bar, bungalows), with half board.
There is little road to reach the Amtoudi gorge, for a beautiful and bucolic hike, with swimming points in the gueltas. Two agadirs require a little effort of uphill walking but are certainly the highlights of the day's show, offering an instructive and fun discovery as well as breathtaking panoramas. Accommodation is in a comfortable guest house at Tigmi Bulbul, with half board.
The arid highlands of the Anti-Atlas are not far away. A complete change of scenery, which can be austere after the harvest. There again several agadirs to discover, breathtaking panoramas of the valley and then a women's craft cooperative that we like to support where you can watch Berber women dyeing and weaving wool, as well as cooking for you. Simple accommodation but specific to the association, where you will certainly be the only ones. Modified American plan.
Return to the Souss plain with a possible detour in the morning to the mouth of the Massa Park (bird watching possible). In the afternoon, a hike is offered in the valley of the citrons to a spring. Overnight stay in Taroudant at the Dar Tourkia riad, with half board.
A day of relaxation at leisure: stroll through the souks of Taroudant, enjoy the spa and the swimming pool. Same half-board accommodation.
Transfer to Agadir airport by taxi.
