Arrival and welcome at Cochin airport. Private transfer from Cochin International Airport to the city of Thrissur, where you will check-in at the Rajah Ayurveda Hospital for a seven-day wellness retreat.
Begin your Ayurvedic treatment in an immersive residential program designed to reconnect you with your body. Upon arrival, you will have a consultation with the doctor, who will design your personalized program and assign the appropriate treatments. This consultation is essential as the doctor will take time to understand your lifestyle from childhood to the present, addressing factors such as sleep, diet, and daily rhythm. This will enable the doctor to prescribe the best treatments for you, or, if no treatment is necessary, you can still enjoy the rejuvenating massages that promote body awareness and grounding.
Originating in India, Ayurveda is an alternative medicine based on the science of life ("Ayus" meaning life and "Veda" meaning knowledge). Ayurveda focuses on healing the body and mind together, whether for specific health issues or to maintain overall balance.
The center’s chef will prepare healthy, vegetarian meals based on Kerala’s traditional culinary and Ayurvedic practices. Meals can be customized based on your needs and the doctor’s recommendations. Overnight at Rajah Ayurveda Hospital.
For the next five days (Day 3 to Day 7), you will focus on Yoga, meditation, Ayurvedic treatments, and relaxation.
History: In Ayurvedic philosophy, the universe consists of five elements: air, fire, water, earth, and space. These elements correspond to three doshas (energies) in the human body: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. When one dosha accumulates beyond a desirable level, the body loses balance. Each person has a unique balance, and our health and well-being depend on maintaining harmony between the doshas. Ayurveda offers lifestyle and dietary guidelines to maintain this balance.
The Ayurvedic treatment provided will aim to restore any imbalance between the elements. Ayurveda focuses on enhancing both physical health and holistic well-being. With over 5,000 years of knowledge passed down through the Vedas, Ayurveda uses medicinal herbs and oils to promote healing.
You will participate in daily Yoga sessions and receive 1.5 to 2.5 hours of Ayurvedic treatments, depending on the protocol set by the Ayurvedic doctor. The daily yoga and meditation sessions are included. All medications during treatment are also provided. During your free time, enjoy the enchanting surroundings of your accommodation, with nature, a pool, and a guaranteed feeling of rejuvenation.
Last day of your Ayurvedic treatment. At the end of your stay, the doctor will advise whether to continue treatment (optional and at an additional cost). Overnight at Rajah Ayurveda Hospital.

Day 9: Thrissur - Cochin
After breakfast, transfer from Thrissur to Cochin.
History: Kochi (also known as Cochin) is a city on the southwestern coast of India, in Kerala. It has been a port city since 1341 when a flood opened up the harbor to Arab, Chinese, and European merchants. Vasco da Gama built a fort here in the 16th century to compete with Arabs in the spice trade. He was buried at St. Francis Church for 14 years before his remains were taken back to Portugal. His tomb can still be visited today.
Explore the city, a unique blend of medieval Portugal, Dutch influence, and English countryside, set against the tropical Malabar Coast. Visit the oldest church in India, winding streets lined with 500-year-old Portuguese houses, Chinese fishing nets, a 16th-century synagogue, and a palace built by the Portuguese. Fort Kochi is a small neighborhood with typical beaches. It’s also the only place outside of China where you can see Chinese fishing nets in use.
In the evening, enjoy a Kathakali performance, an ancient art form combining dance, theater, and martial arts. Overnight at the hotel.
Private transfer from Cochin to Alleppey.
Embark on a traditional houseboat for a cruise.
History: Discover the Kerala Backwaters, an extensive network of lagoons and canals surrounded by lush nature and small, authentic villages. The freshwater rivers meet the salty ocean water here. The canals connect the villages, and transportation is carried out in small motorboats, traditional canoes, or houseboats. It’s like Venice under the tropics, with boats gliding on liquid boulevards, propelled by bamboo poles.
Cruise the canals, lagoons, and Vembanad Lake, enjoying the serene atmosphere of the calm waters, unique ecosystems, and scenic views of teak, mahogany, and rosewood houses, flower-filled villages, verdant rice fields, and coconut trees. Meals and overnight stay aboard the houseboat.
Disembark from the houseboat after breakfast and transfer to Munnar.
Munnar is a small town surrounded by the Devan Kannan hills. Once a summer retreat for the British government in South India, Munnar is known for its vast tea plantations, picturesque towns, winding streets, and vacation facilities. It also boasts the highest peak in South India, Anamudi, which rises to 2,695 meters. Munnar is an ideal spot for hiking.
After check-in at the hotel, enjoy a tour of the mountains and take a stroll through the tea plantations surrounding Munnar. Overnight at the hotel.

The Tata Tea factory and Nallathanni Domain Museum feature machines and key moments that contributed to Kerala's tea plantation history, such as furniture, an original tea roller (from 1905), typewriters, manual calculators, wooden bathtubs, etc. You will see the different stages of tea processing and taste some varieties.
