A journey to the heart of cultural diversity

Traveling to Algeria means setting off to discover a fascinating and mysterious land, far from mass tourism. This country attracts more and more visitors each year, well beyond the Franco-Algerian community.

The must-sees of Algeria

Built in an amphitheater on an exceptional site, resting on the hills of the Sahel, Algiers "the white" overlooks and illuminates the bay with its glow. Its superb casbah with a fascinating history and mythical alleys, its popular district of Bab el Oued, or its shopping streets like the famous Didouche Mourad street, not to mention its numerous museums like the National Museum of Fine Arts… It is really hard to get bored in this bustling Algerian capital. The archaeological site of Tipasa is a must-see for any traveler to Algeria, especially for a first visit. These ruins, so dear to Albert Camus and mentioned in "Noces," are breathtakingly beautiful. It is a unique ensemble of Roman, Phoenician, Paleo-Christian, and Byzantine remains that testify to the importance and richness of the ancient city. The site extends over 70 hectares and magnificently overlooks the sea. The Algerian desert, the famous Sahara, is one of the most beautiful deserts in the world, possibly the most beautiful according to adventure tourism specialists. It boasts impressive natural splendors: from Ghardaïa to Assekrem, passing through Tamanrasset and Djanet. Its magnificent dunes endlessly fascinate all lovers of nature and wide-open spaces.

Discovery of Authentic Algeria

Located about 1.5 hours' drive from Sétif, Djemila is an unmissable archaeological site in the region. Often less frequented than Tipasa, it is nonetheless magnificent and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the northeast of Sétif, this Roman city was built high in the mountains, giving it an imposing style. The site has been remarkably well preserved, even better than that of Tipasa. Oran, situated between the rocky massif of Murdjadjo and a blue azure sea, is the second largest urban area in Algeria after Algiers. With its superb seafront and its preserved corniche reminiscent of the Estérel on the Côte d'Azur, its Santa Cruz fort and basilica giving it a feel of Corcovado, Oran is one of the most beautiful cities in North Africa. Its monuments and museums with Arab, Ottoman, Spanish, French influences are as many magical sites to discover. Constantine, which celebrated its 2,500-year history in 2000, is another very beautiful Algerian city. Too often overlooked in favor of Algiers or Oran, it deserves attention. With an urban area close to a million inhabitants, it is the 3rd largest city in Algeria after Algiers and Oran. It boasts a remarkable city center and numerous monuments to visit, notably its famous suspension bridges which have earned it the nickname "city of bridges."
