Discovery of Authentic Algeria
Located about 1.5 hours' drive from Sétif, Djemila is an unmissable archaeological site in the region. Often less frequented than Tipasa, it is nonetheless magnificent and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the northeast of Sétif, this Roman city was built high in the mountains, giving it an imposing style. The site has been remarkably well preserved, even better than that of Tipasa.
Oran, situated between the rocky massif of Murdjadjo and a blue azure sea, is the second largest urban area in Algeria after Algiers. With its superb seafront and its preserved corniche reminiscent of the Estérel on the Côte d'Azur, its Santa Cruz fort and basilica giving it a feel of Corcovado, Oran is one of the most beautiful cities in North Africa. Its monuments and museums with Arab, Ottoman, Spanish, French influences are as many magical sites to discover.
Constantine, which celebrated its 2,500-year history in 2000, is another very beautiful Algerian city. Too often overlooked in favor of Algiers or Oran, it deserves attention. With an urban area close to a million inhabitants, it is the 3rd largest city in Algeria after Algiers and Oran. It boasts a remarkable city center and numerous monuments to visit, notably its famous suspension bridges which have earned it the nickname "city of bridges."
